“Supporting papers had significant relevance to my day-to-day business…”

Studying emergency management has improved my knowledge of our nation’s many hazards, everything from how tsunamis are created and travel, to the geology of earth movement through subsidence or earthquake. I’ve also learnt about leadership and organisational change.

I’ve been working in emergency management for many years and wanted to study the theoretical component behind emergency management.

I liked the academic approach to emergency management offered by Massey. The programme leaders are all well-respected academics.

The papers were varied and interesting while staying on topic and supporting papers also had significant relevance to my day-to-day business. All tutors were easily accessible and the online components assisted in achieving results.

Our graduates normally find positions as mid-to-senior level managers in organisations such as:

  • Local government
  • Central Government
  • Public safety agencies
  • International humanitarian aid organisations
