School of Veterinary Science

My area of research expertise is molecular biology.  My current focus is on infectious diseases, particularly protozoa (Cryptosporodium and Giardia) and viruses in New Zealand and abroad. My work involves developing methods for improved detection and disease surveillance using molecular techniques. I have previous research experience in the ecology of freshwater, deep-sea and Antarctic soil ecosystems.
