Kāinga Rua Hall

Kāinga Rua offers students the opportunity to live with full privacy in spacious single and twin share rooms with en-suite bathrooms, while using shared common areas to cook and eat. This hall is perfect for those wanting to transition from school to university but are not yet ready to take up the commitments of sharing a flat. It is located within a short walk to the campus, with the full support of a pastoral care team and events and initiatives that foster academic success and build strong life skills.

Massey Wellington’s two halls, The Cube and Kāinga Rua, will share inter hall events and activities, while offering distinctive experiences to residents. The same pastoral care team will ensure the hall experience is cohesive and positive with 24/7 support for residents.

Additional Costs to Consider

As this hall is self-catered accommodation, students need to purchase groceries and prepare their own meals. We estimate that $100-$120 should be sufficient for a week's worth of groceries however, this will depend on personal preferences. You may find your first grocery bills are higher as you set your pantry up.

The 2019 rental rates include reasonable usage of power and gas. In the unlikely event that resident's power usage exceeds a reasonable level, they will be responsible for paying the additional costs.

There are a limited number of parks available to lease. Please contact our office for more information.
