The Courts is a group of Halls of Residence known for their centralised courtyards. Situated above the valley that is home to the university’s arboretum, and alongside the sports fields and Recreation Centre, the Courts provide plenty of motivation to keep fit, while still being only a short walk to the heart of the campus.
City and Egmont Courts are catered Halls, set up in 6-person units (called pods) within a larger Hall structure. Rotary and Kairanga Courts are self-catered Halls set up in 4-person pods, each with their own kitchenette.
Rooms are relatively small, but you might be surprised to know they have the same amount of built-in furniture as all the other Halls. Each Hall has a central common room and courtyard, with City and Egmont having large kitchen blocks for snack-making, so there are many places to socialise, making the Courts among the friendliest of Halls on campus.
