As the level of seriousness of the breach increases, the potential penalties become more severe. The diagram below provides an overview of the penalty options.
Penalties for a level 1 breach may include, repeating an assignment with a cap on the mark, and or a requirement to attend an academic writing workshop, or a zero mark for the assignment. A penalty for a level 2 breach might be failing the paper. A level 3 breach could result in exclusion from the University.
