Advisory Board

An Advisory Board has been established to provide good standards of governance to the Joint School. It will be responsible for policies and for executive level co-ordination and oversight of the School on behalf of the joint partners.

The Advisory Board responsibilities are to

  • Exercise oversight of the School on behalf of the sponsors
  • Approve the vision, mission and values of the School
  • Approve the strategies and structure of the School
  • Approve policies and operating procedures of the School
  • Make an appointment to the position of Director of the School
  • Approve delegated authorities to the Director
  • Approve annual operating plans of the School
  • Define key performance measures and goals
  • Monitor performance against goals
  • Refer back to the sponsors any major strategic or policy issues that require approval by the sponsors
  • Undertake any other oversight responsibilities that the Advisory Board is delegated by the sponsors from time to time.

The Board is comprised of four members two of whom are nominated by Massey University and two by Plant and Food Research. The Advisory Board meets approximately twice per year.
