247.002 Foundation Mathematics 2 (15 credits)

This course introduces students to fundamental mathematical and statistical concepts. Content includes algebra, functions, calculus and statistics. The course is designed to lead into 100-level courses that require algebraic fluency.

Note(s): Students will not be permitted to enrol in 247.002 concurrently with 247.001. Students will not be permitted to enrol in 247.001 if they have passed 247.002

  • Students should be able to formulate an approach for dealing with basic mathematical problems, translate problems into mathematical models and apply basic mathematical and statistical concepts and techniques to a wide variety of applications, perform basic processes of statistics, and perform basic processes of algebra.
