Development and application of research to an independent industrial design project.
Note(s): 45-credit core course for Bachelor of Design (Honours) Industrial Design students. This is the second half of the students’ self-selected projects, where products and systems proposed in 198.453 Industrial Design Research and Development are designed, developed and specified, culminating in a presentation to a panel of external assessors. This is a significant project, and the design solution and development processes will be central to graduates’ portfolios. Design solutions are presented as high-resolution models or prototypes, supported by a comprehensive description of the research and development process.
