Research methods, processes and practices for industrial design and their application through a research project.
Note(s): 30-credit core course for Bachelor of Design (Honours) Industrial Design students, where students work on a substantial self-selected project. Through in-depth and innovative research methods, students look for opportunities to develop fresh, creative approaches to existing problems or trending opportunities, and drive their project from defining the opportunity, developing an overall research methodology and project plan, through completing the research and developing design concepts around what they've learned. The design and realisation phase of the project is completed in 198.453 Industrial Design Research Project. Outcomes of this course are presented through short reports and presentations, as well as a series of collaborative workshops and masterclasses.
