Accreditation

Nursing Council of New Zealand

Our nursing programmes are nationally and internationally recognised and approved by the Nursing Council of New Zealand. Students who have completed Massey’s Bachelor of Nursing, can apply for registration as a registered nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.

Facilities

Nursing simulation suites

To prepare undergraduate students for clinical practice, we have nursing simulation suites on our Auckland, Manawatū, and Wellington campuses. Each suite is different, but most have a mock hospital setting, two-way observation spaces, and standard nursing equipment for hospital and community work. Students learn and practice nursing skills through role-play, case-studies and simulations using manikins.

Resources

A Nurse on the Edge of the Desert

Massey alumni Andrew Cameron is your typical, humble, “number 8 wire”, Kiwi bloke. He is also an internationally recognised registered nurse and midwife, recipient of the prestigious Florence Nightingale Medal and an experienced Red Cross nurse. His first book, A Nurse on the Edge of the Desert captures his remarkable and compelling life story with mordant humour, wisdom and pathos.
