Claire is a Senior Lecturer in the Building Technology courses at Massey University’s School of Built Environment. She has a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and 20 years of experience in industrial robotics and automation. Her research interests in the Built Environment include life cycle assessment, sustainability, building energy, fire safety, acoustics and indoor air quality.
My primary research interest is artificial vision and automated inspection systems for industry. I am involved in projects on a service robot, automated fruit picking, automated fruit packing, a geared wheelchair, a kicking robot.
My second research interest is in the built environment with projects in home automation, home safety, green buildings, fire safety, home energy use, glass claddings and volatile organic compounds in homes.
