Once you have sent us your application for admission we check that you are eligible to be admitted to Massey University. If your application is dependent on results from a university entrance qualification, eg NCEA Level 3, we may offer you a conditional Offer of Place dependent on you achieving university entrance. Sometimes we may have to wait until your results become available. For standard applications processing usually takes two weeks. However, if you are applying for Admission with Equivalent Status (AES), Discretionary Entrance (DE) or cross credits you need to allow another three to four weeks in addition to the standard two week processing time.
The standard processing time for returning students is two weeks. If we require any additional information from you we will contact you. However, if you are applying for Admission with Equivalent Status (AES) or cross credits you need to allow another three to four weeks in addition to the standard two week processing time.
If your application is successful we will issue you an Offer of Place. This will be sent as a message to view in your student homepage. Once you receive your Offer of Place, you may accept, decline or apply to defer your start date/location. If you accept your Offer, you will be able to add your courses if the enrolment year is open. We will also send you an email with your student ID number. If you decline your Offer, you will be withdrawn from your programme. If you want to change your programme you will need to reapply for admission and be reassessed.
Once you have been accepted into the University and the enrolment year is open you can apply for enrolment in courses by logging into your student homepage and clicking the Qualifications and courses tab. Academic advice is available for anyone who seeks assistance in choosing their courses.
If your application for enrolment in your courses is approved you will receive an Offer of Enrolment notification which you will need to accept. The Offer of Enrolment will contain information about fees and may have conditions on it. Once you accept your Offer of Enrolment you will be enrolled and will receive a Confirmation of Enrolment notification if you have no outstanding conditions ie pending NCEA results.

If you want to make changes to your programme and course choices you may do so via your student homepage. Please see changing and withdrawing from study for information and conditions of withdrawal. We recommend that you allow plenty of time for processing of any changes to avoid delays in providing you with study material, etc.
Once you have been enrolled you will also receive a notification with your Massey University email address.
If you meet the requirements for entry to a course, you will receive your study materials. Study material for distance courses is usually sent out by at least one week prior to the start of the semester.
All University fees are payable immediately upon the University issuing a Confirmation of Enrolment and before you begin your first course, or earlier if specified in your Offer of Place. You will be able to check fees due by logging into your student homepage and clicking on the Fees and finance tab.
