A/Prof Jenkins presents a seminar: Textbook Broke: The Impact of Course Material Costs on Historically Underserved College Students
The rising cost of college textbooks has been well documented, with textbook prices having increased more than 1000% since the late 1970s.
Fortunately, as textbook prices continue to rise, so has the use of Open Education Resources (OER).
A/Prof Jenkins' presentation will explore the course material costs among racial/ethic minority students, low income students, and first generation college students at a Hispanic Serving Institution in South California.
A/Prof Jenkins is hosted by the CARE Centre, Centre for Culture-Centred Approach to Research and Evaluation.
