It is with much regret that Massey University’s 2020 Defining Excellence Awards, scheduled to be held in Palmerton North on Thursday 26th March 2020, will no longer be taking place and we have taken the decision to cancel this event. This is a measurement that the University is putting in place in light of the confirmed COVID-19 cases in New Zealand. There are a number of organisations currently limiting their domestic travel and we feel that it is only right to do the same, wherever practicable. At this point in time we do not feel that we are being responsible in hosting an event where we are bringing together in a single space over 150 people from across New Zealand.
Massey University’s Defining Excellence Awards are a prestigious event on our annual calendar. These awards showcase our excellent teaching, research and Alumni and we still intend to honour their achievements. We are currently working through how we can best celebrate our winners, in light of this situation and we will share the new arrangements with very soon.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with Anna Gomes (email@example.com).
